Trip Cancelled

Hello All, About a week ago we received some unfortunate news that caused us to pull the plug in cancelling our six week adventure to Europe and beyond. Jan received what would be classified as unfavourable results from a CAT scan performed about two weeks ago. Without going into too much detail it precludes us from travelling at this time. We will be fine and I will post an entry at the beginning of each month to update you on her status and our future travel plans. Now we get to test the system for successful recovery of funds. All necessary phone calls have been made and so far I am pretty impressed with the response and service. Great work from Carla at Steel's travel in pushing all the initial switches, Holland America Line, both on the Cruise and Excursion sides and with the RBC Insurance people, all have left us with a very positive recovery experience. As you may know we do travel quite a bit and things do happen at some point of every adventure and we understand that you take everything in stride because usually in the end things do work out. Now we did not see this coming but we are taking it in stride, things happen and this is why it is important to insure yourself as best as possible against unforeseeable events, whether you bring an umbrella because it just might rain or you pay a bit up front for insurance to cover unfortunate events. So we have had plane windows blow out on us causing us some grief now we have a bit of a health scare. The doctors have left us very confident with what Jan requires and we are looking very forward and positive in bringing you more blog entries of our travels. Until my update at the beginning of October...
