November 28-29, 2022, At Sea

We are spending a couple of lazy days at sea. We are now out of the cool Antarctic current with temperatures back in mid 20’s (Celsius), so very pleasant being back on the deck sitting in the shade. We currently have one guest lecturer on board and she is excellent, Olga Stravrakis, originally from Kiev. Her talk today was on the African Encounters with Europeans. We also have a comedian on board but I would say he is more like an explorer. His name is Mark Sampson and he recently circumnavigated Africa in a 50 year old Mercedes Benz truck/camper with his family of 4. His journey took them 7 years and they did it with only using used cooking oil and paid no bribes to anyone or any official. His story is incredible, I’m hoping he has some of it documented on YouTube.

Other than that we have done the usual including another “dressy night” last night, lots of fun. Tomorrow we are in Angola and we were given the biggest safety warning we have ever had on a cruise. So if this blog happens to end with this post, you will know why - we have a private tour and will be as cautious as possible. We are looking cautiously forward to our day.

Only a few pics, hope you enjoy…
