Day 2 of our adventure read, Sunrise sees you out in the desert (meeting time 6:00 am BTW), riding in a 4x4 Bedouin vehicle of uncertain vintage. Part of the fun is relaxing, channeling your inner-Bedouin, and accepting that the vehicle you’re in is quite different than you car at home! You will visit the setting for the film Lawrence of Arabia and the actual location where T.E. Lawrence set up his camp.
After sunrise, return to camp for camp for breakfast. Leave the camp and board your coach back to the 21st century and your ship at the pier in Aqaba. The only added other stop not mentioned was to another remote Bedouin tent for some tea and relaxation. Again, this was a very nice all inclusive tour of Wadi Rum, highly recommended.
We did return to the ship a bit early at 10:30am, our print out indicated to be back by the early afternoon. It would have been nice to have an hour or two after breakfast to just take in the atmosphere or have a bit of a nap in our Bedouin tent before heading back. Other than that, a great tour and experience.
Happy Halloween from the Zaandam, the ship was dressed up very nicely with a great costume party in the show lounge with great participation from many guests and crew.
Note, this is posted a few days late due to some wifi problems perhaps because of where we are.
