To all ye officers and members and crews of all ships plying the waters of My Kingdom; ye mermaids, and sea urchins; ye whales and porpoises; ye fish both great and small; and to ye crustaceans and lowly barnacles, greetings. Know ye that on 8th of November 2022 there appeared within the Limits of our Royal Domain, Holland America Line’s ship known as The Zaandam ….. Yes, today was the ceremony as we cross the equator for the first time on this voyage.
This is a standard initiation ritual performed as a ship crosses the equator to give it, passengers and crew safe passage to the next hemisphere. King Neptune lives at this junction and is summoned and kindly asked for this safe passage. Loads of fun…
So yes, we are at day six of our eight day stretch and all is going well as everyone is now settled into pace of long voyage ship life. We have had some amazing sunsets along the way as well as some officers and guest friendly competitions.
A few pics over the past few days…
