Well sleep really isn’t happening to well here, just too darn exciting, like a kid in a candy store. We went to bed around 11pm, lights out about 11:30 then my eyes sprung open at about 3:30am. Tossed and turned to about 4:30 and that was it, I was up. Chris, our guide, called at 5am to give us the official wake up call but we were pretty much ready by then. Coffee and muffin and we were on our way by about 5:40am. Will let the pics speak for themselves as we travelled about the reserve looking for anything and everything, I think we did well. We were back at the lodge for our hot breakfast by about 9am and shortly thereafter back to the room for a few hour nap. Then it was a great lunch at about 2, a little stroll around the amenities here before heading out for our evening drive at 4pm. Again, the pics will reflect what we saw but one of the best parts is when Chris said that he was going to chase the sun by getting to the top of the local mountain. As we went over the top and just as the sun was setting, we pull up to a set table with snacks and beverages, red/white wine, beer, soft drinks, gin and tonics, well just about everything. We asked, when did you have time to do this? They said that the Lodge wanted to do something special for us. Thank you, Phinda Mountain Lodge.
Hope you enjoy our incredible day on Safari with our pics…
