Aug 12, 2022, At Sea

Final days of a cruise are always a little tough even after 35 days and people are ready to return home there is always a little sense of, let’s just keep going. So, bitter sweet as it were. We took advantage of our last pinnacle option by enjoying a most incredible lunch in the fine dining optional restaurant. King Salmon for Jan and the Pinnacle burger for me - this is not your run of the mill hamburger meat, nope, ground steak it is. Yum. After lunch it was time to pack, oh boy, again not fun, just don’t like packing, jigsaw puzzle style - oh and watch the weight… yeah, not fun.

We did have some excitement while we were packing, one of the guests needed to be airlifted from our ship, a huge Canadian rescue helicopter came in and plucked the ill guest off the bow of the ship, hope all is okay - always a bit concerning to see this, twice now on this cruise. No, not Covid related.

We hit the Ocean Bar for our last pre dinner drink before heading into dinner, another great meal. On the way to the dining room we noticed a beautiful sunset and thought how appropriate to have a nice sunset as our cruise, cruises off into the sunset. Another great BBC production for our last show and now it’s time to finalize everything before we disembark the vessel tomorrow morning… I will provide my usual wrap up within the next few days, so stay tuned.

Just a few pics of the day, hope you enjoy…
