South Pacific 2009

In September 2009 we set sail from our home port in Vancouver for a 66 day cruise adventure to the South Pacific. Here is a sample of some of the places visited.
After a week or so at sea we cruised in to Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Islands

In Bora Bora we swam with the Sharks and Sea rays an incredible experience. Here is picture of me with a squid on my head, our guide was simply fantastic.
 One more on Bora Bora.
Jan and I on board on a formal night.
After cruising through many of the South Pacific Islands we reached Australia. Our first port was Cairns then Brisbane and then into Sydney Harbour. One of our on our own excursions was walking over the famous Harbour bridge.
Over the bridge meaning up and over, special suites are required as is a guide.
From Sydney it was to Melbourne, Hobart (Tasmania) then across the Tasmanian Sea to the beautiful and picturesque Milford Sound in New Zealand.
Hiking in Mount Cargill Walkway just outside of Dunedin, New Zealand.
Leaving New Zealand on our way back to North America we stopped in Kingdom of Tonga, here we are on a secluded resort island named FaFa.
The top of Diamond Head in Honolulu.

We are getting closer to our next travel adventure in September 2011. More information on this with the next post.
