At Sea - November 07, 2012

Sea life today was just great, a sailors modo is for you to have favorable winds and a following sea. Today we had that plus beautiful sunshine most of the day with about 26 degrees on the temperature gauge. We are supposed to have the same for tomorrow, wonderful. Went through the kitchen tour today, so here are a few facts for this ship, Under the guidance of one Executive Chef there are 150 persons reporting directly to him, now these positions range from the individual restaurant chefs to the sous chefs, the assistant chefs right down to the dicers and slicers. Then you have the serving staff which consists for another 223 staff members all under the guidance of one Dining Room Manager. Without going into too much detail on the actual weekly food consumption, I will give you the big numbers, 11,830 pounds of meat and meat products, 137,500 lbs of fresh vegetables, 7,750 lbs of potatoes, 23,040 eggs, 3,500 lbs of rice for the crew and one more 2,000 bottles of champagne and wine. A huge production to keeping everyone here on board well fed, in many cases way too well fed. Our pictures today consist of a fe shots of the kitchen along with some of our favorite art pieces on board. Tomorrow we look forward to our dinner in the Pinnacle restaurant as they convert it into a Le Cirque dining experience. Oh and for those playing along at home I thought I would give our current position in whatever time zone we are in here off the coast of North America, at 11:00pm our position is 28.31 degrees North, 53.25 degrees West.
