Rotterdam, Amsterdam - Apr 09, 2013

Our journey comes to close here in Rotterdam and what an incredible 70 days we have had. I am including a few pictures from the bus as we headed to the airport, including windmills of old and new. I will be preparing a trip summary along with some of our favorite pictures within the next week as I digest this amazing adventure.

Southampton, United Kingdom - Apr 08, 2013

We only had a few hours in port here in Southampton - mainly a drop off port for about half the ships guests, so we just stayed on board. We were going to go the maritime museum but as it was a Monday all museums were closed anyways. Here a few pictures from the ship including some of the Isle of Wight and the various ferry systems that service it.

At Sea - Apr 06/07, 2013

Two great wind down days at sea but unfortunately as noted with a very lousy internet connection. It is amazing being home with a “real” internet. Believe me we had about 200 minutes left on our plan, but wow most of it was wasted waiting, I was able to do a few things but ... so here we are a few days after returning to rainy Vancouver and now I can upload the last few days of our incredible adventure. We first had a Black and Gold Ball for our first night at sea after leaving Lisbon, this included the traditional Baked Alaska parade - a fun night ending with the Ball in the main showroom. The next sea day dinner had an international theme of many of the ports we had visited from the Middle East to Indonesia, a great night to say goodbye to the many people we had met as many were departing in Southampton. Interesting thing to note is that both couples from our table are also going to be on the Grand Voyage in September as well as the Environmental Officer Jonathan and his wife Julie (pictured in a few of our shots), so we are planning a reunion dinner on board the Amsterdam - a cruise we are very much looking forward to - details to be blogged later. Really a lousy internet connection on our last few days, surprising considering where we were in the world. Oh well, here is the last instalment of our pictures in Lisbon. Will catch up the last few days of our cruise shortly.
