Singapore, Singapore - Feb 15, 2013

Big ship turnover today, about 500 passengers including our captain have left us today and now we are restocked with new holiday makers (and a new captain). Singapore is a wonderful city, clean, friendly and so well organized, we looked forward to this port both for today as well as a repeat visit in about 10 days. We headed out with Jeff and Joy and after purchasing an all day transit pass ($20.00 singapore dollars where you get $10.00 of that back upon returning the card - great deal) very close to the cruise ship terminal, so getting around this city is fast and easy. Singapore is bit of an asia, india melting pot where many nationalities live and work here all while maintaining their individual identities. This was very evident as we headed for India town and after just being in India, this area of Singapore looked and felt like we were in India, temples and all, amazing. From here it was back onto the subway and down to the Marina Bay Sands for lunch on the 57th floor at the Ku de Ta restaurant, very nice with an excellent view. We will enjoy this amazing city once again after we visit our seven ports in Indonesia. Some pictures of today’s visit... Yes Jan picked up a bit of bling from the Gold Market here in India Town.
