Day 2 in San Diego and we really could use a few more. This city has so much to offer, we have even scratched the surface. Today we finished off our tour of the USS Midway. Started under the main deck where all the administration, crew quarters, galleys etc. are. Basically a little city, everything from canteens to a chapel to pretty much a full hospital, dentist and so on. Never really thought about doing this tour but very happy I did and would highly recommend to anyone. From here we jumped onto the 215 bus on Broadway and headed to the famous San Diego Zoo, again a highly recommended visit while in SD. Jeff and Sunny's first time so tried to show them around to all the high points within the time we had before closing, I think we did alright. Back to the Hotel for a rest before jumping on the free shuttle to Balboa Park for the Festival of Lights, in a word, wow. They are expecting over 350,000 over the few days and I can see why. This city knows how to get ramped up for Christmas, google this or get down here and see it for yourself. We visited for 2 1/2 hours and again didn't even begin to scratch the surface. Well we got held up by watching an amazing choir and orchestra Christmas performance. The pics I took do not do it justice. We really need to see this park during the day and spend a full day here. So in short, yes we will be back. Tomorrow we board the ms Westerdam to start our next part of this getaway. Just a note for our blog followers, I usually post a snippet here with a link but my blog app seems to be acting up. So eventually this will make over to the blog but it just is taking a bit of time to do a workaround on the iPad. So for now only my FB friends are able to view. Thanks for your patience, hope you are enjoying our trip so far...
