February to May 2024 - Andiamo to Palm Desert and Re-evaluation

We blitzed back down to the our waiting Andiamo for a February 1st pickup. She was gleaming and fine as we pulled her out of storage, she was covered and well protected from the elements even during a recent major rainstorm.

We enjoyed a month in wonderful Palm Desert at the Emerald Park RV Resort before bouncing over to Disneyland in Anaheim for a week with family and then headed across country. We visited a total of 26 states, making 56 stops for a total of 16,898 klms (10,502 miles) before making it home at the end of May. Unless you are in my Facebook Friend community you would not have seen these adventures, sorry about that. Unlike days on a cruise ship posting and trailering do take up a lot of time and energy. I have found that at least for now, posting to the blog while on the road just is not working out for me.  I may circle back at a later date to include in the blog like I am doing now. Should you wish to be included in these posts, please send me a friend request.

That said, we will continue to post when we are on travels that give us a chance to prepare posts while someone else does the driving sort of speak. At writing this we are on a 51 day adventure and currently enroute to Dutch Harbour, Alaska. Stay tuned as I prepare to put the defibrillator on this blog to get it recharged for this adventure. At the time of writing I am having issues re authenticating my blogspot account, hopefully to be resolved in short order.

Please find a few pics of our Andiamo Travels across the lower 48 states.

Andiamo 2024

Okay… Let’s Go (Andiamo). Oh it has been a little while since our last post to this blog site, so much has happened. In early November 2023, we had some wonderful day visits to Joshua Tree National Park, this is another amazing national park here in the desert. There are two distinct desert ecosystems here, the Mojave and the Colorado come together here at Joshua Tree. There is an incredible variety of plants and animals that make their homes in this land sculpted by strong winds and the occasional torrents of rain. This park is open 24 hours a day as the night sky is as fantastic as what these lands have to offer during the day. There are three entry points as well as many optional routes inside this park. One could easily enter from say the south entrance point off the I10 and exit on the Eastern gate making for a nice loop. Plan to be here for many hours. If you do the loop from the south to the east be sure to stop at the Visitor centre as you exit the park and then cross the street to the Joshua Tree Saloon for a great bite to eat, a very funky old saloon.

I digress…. As I was beginning to prepare this Joshua Tree post we had a family emergency back home. The staff at Emerald Desert RV Park were absolutely amazing in helping us sort the dynamics of our situation, lets just say in short order we needed to get home as quick as possible and they were able to store our trailer on site while we drive quickly home. Yes, we tried to fly home but the unfortunately our little guy is not so little and he was unable to fit in the required size kennel to get under the seat of the plane. This is why this blog kind of dropped off in the middle of our adventure. That said, the emergency is now behind us, well in the most part, for those of you that know, well know, but this is not a personal diary blog this is our travel adventures, so on we go. We are well, the situation is well enough, we go on…

Some pics of the last segment before we returned home… Hope you enjoy…
