If You Can't Beat Them... Join Them !!!

Thank you for tuning back in. This posting was delayed as a result of the perpetual pause button we have been sitting on for the past month. As of this past Tuesday at 3:00 pm we have finally received some answers. During this month we have met with a specialist and a surgeon and tests done etc. and we have waited and waited and waited to determine if Jan could get in and have this surgery before her surgeon was going to be away for a month. Welllll... as of Tuesday we now know that Jan will not have the surgery until after the surgeon returns on November 13th... great another month of waiting. BUT seeing that the surgeon is going to be away for a month got us thinking, Jan is feeling pretty good and she has great energy so off to the internet we go, because if you can't beat this system we are in why not join in and also go away for the month. Long story short, we found an excellent Holland America Cruise leaving out of Venice on October 17th ending in Fort Lauderdale on November 11th, we have spent the last two days connecting all the dots and we are now set to leave on Sunday, October 14th. We are very excited to be able to do this (much better than sitting on the couch waiting for the month to go by) and will be back in plenty of time to prep for the operation. Our surgeon and specialist have left us very positive about the operation and are very confident of a successful result. We will be blogging along the way for those that are playing and following us from the comfort of your home, I will be posting the itinerary within the next few days. For those wondering about the insurance and financial recapture of our committed funds for the cancelled trip. Well, we were treated very well by all parties involved and were able to recapture just about all funds we had invested. Special thanks again to Carla at Steele's Travel, Holland America Line and RBC Insurance, you have all made this very difficult time a bit easier with your understanding and great communication. For now we turn the page and try to enjoy the next month the best we can. Stay tuned ...
