Athens, Greece (Part 2) - Mar 26, 2013

So many pictures taken on this day in Athens so we have another part 2 for today’s blog. A little information on Athens before the additional pictures. Athens is generally considered the cradle of Western civilization. Politically, this city nourished the seeds of democracy, and as such is like a treasured icon of western and U.S. history. Athens is bounded by four mountains and several prominent hillocks, of which the Acropolis is the most well known. The Acropolis is a marble treasure-house, much quarried from the nearby hill, Pendeli. Our pictures continue .... Sea day today as we float on our way to Messina in Sicily.
