Petra - Mar 22, 2013 (Part 2)

Jan and I had a private tour to/from Petra with a company recommended by Carla, our wonderful and highly recommended travel agent. We were greeted by our driver (Mohammed - sp?) and our guide (Salam - Sp?) promptly at 7:15 am inside the port which was very nice as most other tours had to be assembled outside the port (meaning a shuttle bus ride to the port exit), so we were quickly on our way. The short version was that we had a very personalized, professional, comprehensive tour of Petra that could not have been duplicated by any HAL shore excursion or by trying to assemble a taxi type tour at the port gate. Jan and I were looking at this port as another of the big highlights on this voyage (I know there have been so many) and having heard about this special place we knew we wanted a special tour - and so we did through this guide and driver. We thank Salam and Mohammed for our special day here in Petra and will look to be contacting her should our travels bring us back to this incredible part of the world, thank you for bringing Petra back to life for us.
