Yes, there is no September 29th, our clocks last night instantaneously went back two hours only to be slingshotted ahead 24 hours. So in a blink of eye we are now a day ahead of our home in Vancouver. We are still floating in the Bering Straight as we crossed the imaginary sign post of the International Date Line. Our original course actually had us south of the Bering Straight but as a result of major storm systems we are holding off as long as we can before we start some rocking and rolling, probably will be at some point tomorrow.
So we keep ourselves busy with Qi Gong followed by Tai Chi and then lectures, eating, drinking and shows. Yesterday turned out to be an intensive drinking day for me as I had wine tasting at 11:00 am, then an Ensemble Group meet and greet at 4:30. The wait staff took great care of me that they ensured I had four (yes four) martinis during the hour. Yes, I still went to the gym afterwards but don't ask me what I did, I just know that I melted in the hot tub and sauna afterwards in order to get me recharged for dinner. Sure was happy to have the additional two hours of sleep last night.
We are having a great time as this cruise has a very different vibe to it that others we have been on - not sure exactly what it is but it just seems more relaxed, no angst among the ranks. I know its early but I certainly hope this calmness continues as we float around the Pacific.
Here are a few pictures of the last few days. We have a location team from Japan on board that are doing a great job of introducing us to the Japanese culture. Eddie and Calista are on board, so great to see them and there amazing flower displays.
We are loving your photos!
ReplyDeletePlease tell Eddie and Calista I enjoyed their beautiful flower arrangements. Thanks for the photo of Tai Chi - does he have about the same number as Cathy did ?
Happy sailing, Jill and Joe
