Sydney, Australia - Nov 15, 2014

Under overcast skies and a temperature drop of about 15 degrees (temperature yesterday was in the high 30's, low 40's), so nice and comfortable as we headed to The Rocks by way of the 9:30 shuttle. Today we acted almost like we were locals as many locals do, they head down to the public market on a Saturday and then stroll over to the Botanical Gardens all within easy walking distance. So no maps required we just relaxed and took in the day. Great shopping by local craft people, Jan felt like she was at the Circle Craft Fair held annually at Canada Place back home. Back at home, I had just ran out the Eucalyptus oil used in the steam room which I had purchased here a few years ago. So a great time to restock my supply with a familiar vendor. We shopped till we dropped, Jan was able to find a decent internet connection to place a call home, so that was also great. The Botanical Gardens was the one area of Sydney that we always wanted to spend a bit of time in and so today was the day, just beautiful as we strolled around with the other tourists and the many locals. A great day.

Sail away was incredible as usual, I just love cruising in and our of this amazing natural harbour. Bonus today was a complimentary Champagne Sail away, so lots of fun was had by all participants. I say beautiful natural harbour as you look to the last picture of this upload in part 3, this is what Captain Cook saw way back in the 1700's and actually missed this harbour, he had recommended the settlement take place further south in Botany Bay, which in fact did not work out - the area now is where the airport is. Captain Cook saw the opening at the Head Lands and indicated that it was of "no significance" - you know he got a lot of things right but did also got a few wrong.

Hope you enjoy our three parts today...
