At Sea - Feb 17, 2015

We are cruising with Cuba along our Starboard side all day, sunny and warm with a nice light breeze, all with calm seas. A very nice relaxing day. Tonight was the Captain's champagne reception and our first formal night. All good. The show tonight was probably one of the best Broadway type shows we have seen to date. Costumes, sets, including amazing visual screens and sound really captured the Broadway experience. The production was called "Droom", a fantasy journey taking us through the four seasons all using more modern pop/rock music, great.

Dinner was fabulous as always aboard these HAL ships, you will note our table, perfect, I believe I have Tom on the Amsterdam to thank for this. Centre rail, table for four set for two. We did have open dining but upon arriving we spoke with Putu, the assistant dining room manager, to see if we could get a fixed dining table, he looked in his system and informed us that they already had this table set aside for us? Perfect, thanks Tom? Again, very well taken care of here in the Ryndam. The sad news is that this ship will be leaving the HAL fleet next year, sad, just as we are quickly growing to love her.

One more full sea day before we hit the daily ports, staring with San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jan is doing well, resting a lot, every day a bit better but still recovering, she is loving the inside cabin because regardless of the time of day she can rest in complete darkness - and it is dark. I keep wanting to open the curtain which is a wall - great spot for storage…

A few pictures of our day, hope you enjoy…
