The shoal was not an issue as we departed back to the lodge a few hours later. The water temperature at the Homfray increased a few degrees, enough for a paddle board and a swim, a great way to end a very nice day. Sue once again prepared an excellent dinner, a vegetable salmon pie, topped with mashed potatoes, similar to a shepard's pie but without the meat, fantastic. We are relaxing here in the morning looking to what our adventure will be today. Hope you enjoy the few pics of our day today...
Traveling to amazing destinations, meeting incredible people and experiencing diversified cultures, what a wonderful world.

Aug 01, 2016: Roscoe Bay, Desolation Sound
Hooray, we have the sun on our faces as we or shall I say Brent walks the boat through the narrow, shallow entry to Roscoe Bay on West Redonda Island about a 30 minutes boat ride from Homfray Lodge. Roscoe Bay is a sheltered, forested bay with this drying shoal access across its entrance. The tides are definitely working against us this trip as timing wise we hit this shoal at exactly the lowest tide of the day, 2.54 feet. Even with the engine up, we slightly kissed a few rocks as Brent pulled us through the 20 yard stretch. Once you are over the bar, there is excellent anchorage in the cozy, peaceful bay. There are a couple of hikes here, one to an overlooking bluff, another to a mountain view (currently closed) and the last and best is a short hike to Black Lake, the main attraction of the Bay. The water here is warm and wonderful, we had the place to ourselves for our picnic lunch and swim.
