Aug 03, 2016: Toba Inlet, Desolation Sound
Cloudy this morning then a breaking sun around noon got us going up the 26 nautical miles up the Toba Inlet. With cascading waterfalls on either side of you, the water changes colour with every mile you pass. At the top of the inlet you are met with 50 degree (f), glacier fed water, an amazing site. No, no swimming here, burr. On the return trip we stopped at an beautiful cascading waterfall, so close we could almost touch it. And then the incredible finale, a male adolescent Grizzly Bear forging on a beach, Jan's eagle eyes spotted this amazing animal which posed for a few pics before he disappeared into brush. Again, another great day here in Dezi Sound.
