The three brothers of Homfray Lodge came down to greet us as we floated to the dock close to the four hour. Matt had a big smile and has arm outstretched as he welcomed us back to this magical place. We found Homefray a few years ago as we were looking for a place to place our heads as we looked at the possibility of exploring Desolation Sound on our 18 and a half foot Bayliner Bowrider. And yes the half foot makes a difference. Homfray Lodge contains three stand alone cottages and a row of five barrick sleeping units. The cottages contain there own kitchens while the barracks share a common one. This is a great find for any out there looking to explore this area without sleeping accommodations on board. We will are here this time around four nights. We are crossing our fingers that the weather holds. This year we are able to enjoy the Homfray nightly fire, a real treat as two years ago a fire ban prevented this. Scott, Dave and Matt had the fires going full out last night, wonderful. Here are a few pics of our day.
Traveling to amazing destinations, meeting incredible people and experiencing diversified cultures, what a wonderful world.

July 31/Aug 01, 2016: Desolation Sound
As we were finishing our lunch at the Laughing Oyster restaurant on beautiful Okeover Inlet, the ocean water calmed with the incoming tide inviting us to launch our weighted down boat down the steep ramp. We are on our way back to Homfray Lodge in the Captain George Vancouver named Desolation Sound, ahhh, just magical. Homfray Lodge is located on the outer edge of Desolation Sound on Homfray Channel. Homfray Channel is the second deepest sounding in North America reaching depths of 2,400 feet with mountain peaks rising 5,000 feet to 8,000 all around you.
