July 30, 2016: Home but Away

To summarize our two weeks aboard the ms Noordam in a word the word would have to be, relaxing. In the usual HAL service excellence we were very well taken care from checkin to our wonderful verandah staterooms to the great menus and food to the entertainment and of course the crew on board. The ship itself was a wonderful surprise as we usually not huge fans of bigger ships (I know in this industry this ship is classified as mid size) but I am now a converted fan. Must be the crew, Captain Bos is exceptional as were our two cruise directors, Kelsey and Jude as well as the rest of the ships complement. You never know we may be looking to the Noordam for future cruise experiences.

Despite my one hick up with the iPad it looks to be very convenient winner for any journeys of less than a month, perhaps with more use I may be able to eliminate the extra luggage of my laptop entirely,  btw this hickup cleared up as soon as gained a reliable connection. Still researching my picture posting problem from earlier in the cruise. I tried introducing video to the blog but blogspot just doesn't like it at this point, hopefully in the future. Video snippets are available on my FB page, hmm that reminds me, I need to check a few that were on a delayed uploading (again due to internet connection).

When I say that I need to check on this items later is that at the time writing we are on a ferry heading to Desolation Sound and do not have my laptop with me. We have been bouncing between our Paradise Rock on the Sunshine Coast and our home in North Vancouver mainly back to see our new bundle of joy. We are now grandparents to beautiful little Avery Alexandra, born July 28th, we are so excited. So as mentioned we are on the ferry to enjoy Desolation Sound for 5 days with friends Brent and Sue we are taking our little boat to explore this area a bit further than we did two years ago. Two years ago we did blog about this adventure as it is so amazing up here and as they do have Internet up at Homfray Lodge so I will continue the blog, so stayed tuned for posts from this Captain Vancouver named, Desolation Sound.

Back to our time at the Noordam and some pics of this wonderful ship as we complete one adventure to move onto another. Special thanks to Captain Bos, keep a look out for us around Merry Island as there is a very good chance we will be floating out there to wish all on board a "Bon voyage", Jude, it was a pleasure to have met you, April our beautiful drink server and of course Diane Fast, truly delighted and so happy seeing you again - we will keep an eye on your gigs. Hope you enjoy our pics.
