July 16, 2017: Zuiderdam, Denmark

Wow, what a difference a day makes, the announcement was, "Copenhagen had its summer yesterday" and we believe it. I had grandiose ideas of taking the train/bus combo to the cruise ship but hey, not in the rain - taxi van please. So, the hotel ordered it and a station wagon pulled up, we tried but short of strapping Trevor to the roof, this car was just not going to work. Hotel reordered and a proper sized vehicle showed up. Three ships on port today, so a very busy port, line ups were snaking so thanks to our star status we bypassed the worst of it and were on board within a half hour, yeah (yes, the port agents were kind as they allowed the Thoma family to go through with us).
The ms Zuiderdam is a very nice ship as you will see as we start to post some of the ships pics. We have a fully obstructed view but with a full window so lots of natural light (we have a life boat in front of us but we can see over - and in case the ship is going down, all we have to do is step in, lol), we are liking our room, especially Jan as it has a bathtub. Great first day as we get settled, now to test the internet, fingers crossed. Slow (as ship usual speed) but okay. Hope you enjoy our pics if I am able to post…
