Let us introduce our new airstream, Andiamo to the blog. Andiamo is Italian for, “Let’s Go”, which is kind of what we do - we go. This word stuck with us stemming back from our first European tour back in 1998, the 10 countries in 28 day comprehensive bus tour. While in the Amalfi coast our guide constantly used this word to keep our group going, “Andiamo, let’s go” she would say. We have used this term ever since and when we found out that people name their Airstreams, it kind of seemed like a natural name for our 28 foot, Pottery Barn, special addition trailer. We have recently received the official name plate for Andiamo a few days prior to boarding the ship - yes, it is officially registered, kind of like naming a boat.
So why a travel trailer, well many reasons. We have talked about for over 10 years as something we would like to do considering we have travelled the world but have not really travelled in our own back yard. Then Covid hit which forced us to looking into alternate ways to travel. Much research later and we now have our stateroom on wheels. We processed the paperwork on her in January but considering the weather we put off picking her up until just over a month ago.
We invite you to continue to follow us as we begin to roll down the highway. I have included a few pics of Andiamo here and will include our March, shake down adventure in tandem with our time now on the Koningsdam.
