Hong Kong, SAR - Oct 24, 2014

A little extra sleep was needed last night, so we did not get off the ship until about 10 am. Again with our Octopus cards in hand we headed over to the Star Ferries for the crossing to Hong Kong Island. This is the traditional way of crossing over, yes we could take the Metro but wanted to see Hong Kong from one of these great old ferries. Hong Kong probably has the largest Apple Store anywhere - at least it is the biggest one I have seen - amazing. Using the several elevated walkways we headed over to the mid level escalators, the longest set of escalators in the world. In the morning they take workers down from the various districts to the many office towers. At 10 am they change direction and take people back up for the rest of the day, all covered and very cool. About a third of the way up is where we jumped off as this is the home of the Happy Foot Massage place (please note massage not message, it was late last night when I finished the blog - and also it should have read 75 minutes, oops). We have been here in the past and if you are looking for a great professional, nice and well run massage place the Happy Foot on Lynhurst Terrace is where you want to go. I was able to take a couple quick photos, check out the bars on the ceiling, they use these to balance themselves when they are massaging you with their feet and toes. 75 minutes was about $45 to $50 US, well worth it.

After our wonderful blissful experience we headed up to Victoria Peak for a few photos of this incredible city. The Peak is currently hosting a Halloween event, so lots of great costumes and displays. Back to the ship after a wander through some more markets for a memorable sail away. Great day and great night.

BTW - as I try to give a few tips along the way, to get up the Peak for less than two bucks each, take either the number 15 bus or the little mini bus (route 1) up to the top. This will get you up there with no Tram line up or additional costs. But if you want the funicular experience, then by all means do it.
