January 21, 2019: At Sea

Looks like the lost two hours of our clocks moving forward the other night caught up with us as we did not get out of bed until almost 9 o’clock. Either that or it was due to being up and outside until about 1:30 am trying to catch the lunar eclipse, hmmm. Clouds kept moving in and out so I gave up a bit earlier than some as I heard some stayed out until about 2:30 am.

So we missed Tai Chi this morning, oh well, still had a busy day as today was our day to celebrate all the medallion awarded mariners. Presentation was at 11:00 with about 88 new 100 day medallion holders (some 165 on board), another 63, 300 day awardees along with about a dozen more 500 day awardees and two more inducted into the Platinum club (700 days). We have 3 President club members on board. We are a whisper away from the 700 day club (I believe we are at about 695 after this cruise), so will need a few more before that special induction.

Mariner lunch was very nice, Marianne and Marcel have enough days to have them sit at the captains table, looks like they had a great time sitting with the royalty on this ship.

Lets see, then it was trivia at 1pm, seminar at 2pm, then the Filipino Cruise show at 3pm, rest, exercise and then dinner at 8pm. Great show tonight as it was a variety show featuring three great acts, two comedians and a wonderful flutist.

We are in San Antonio, Chile tomorrow, another new port for us, so looking forward to getting to know another city here in Chile. San Antonio is a gateway city to Santiago, the nations capital, there are some looking to get a taxi to the capital but because of the 4:30 all aboard time and the possibility of traffic we do not want to risk missing the ship. We have done a tour in Santiago some years ago so we have seen a bit of the capital, the big thing to see is the changing of the guard, something we have not seen but we are just fine with that.

Until tomorrow, here is a few pics of todays activities, hope you enjoy…
