At Sea, Australia - Mar 16, 2020

Okay, so here we go. Finally at about the chime, chimes and the Captain comes on with the announcement of the day. We are indeed docking in Fremantle / Perth on Mar 22nd, half way around the world, pretty much at the actual latitude point - so we could not be further away. We are with the Flight Ease HAL Program and we are still hoping for the best possible outcome for a flight back home. On one hand we remain confident that HAL will get us home quickly but with the chatter of all the other guests on the ship, many with pretty good flights home, so we are still a bit anxious. So on this front we still wait… HAL has done a good job in taking care of the guests, for example, how your luggage came they are honouring the return of the luggage (it just may take some time), compensation seems fair, more on that later. So it is a matter off setting us up and getting us home. Again, will let you know after we know.

Tonight was a to be a special complimentary drink night after our departure fro Darwin. Well we didn’t leave Darwin so the Happy Hours were now complimentary drinks between 4 and 5pm and then again better 6:30 and 7:30 pm. We were pool side at the first Happy Hour so this was great as I enjoyed two very well made Margaritas. Swim / shower later and getting ready for dinner then enjoyed the second happy hour up at the crows nest. Great to see Henk, Cristel and the Captain there to mix and mingle. We had our dinner tonight at the Pinnacle Restaurant as they had the Rudy Solomon, Sel de Mer night. A very special dinner for us as we celebrate really the reason why we are in this cruise. 21 years ago on a cruise ship at midnight tonight Jan and I got engaged, married a year later and now celebrating our 20 year anniversary, so congrats to us. We had some champagne and a delicious home made carrot cake to help us celebrate. We thank Ken, Lois, Stan and Marilyn in helping to celebrate this special occasion with us. Henk also came by to offer his congratulations, nice. We ended our night at the Main stage with Virtuoso Flutist, Stephen Clark. Okay, back to our reality of trying to get home, good luck to us… A few pics of our day, hope you enjoy…. great sunset again tonight.
