At Sea (Tasman Sea) - Mar 05, 2020

We are in the sea located between New Zealand and Australia, this sea is notorious for being a bit bumpy as it were. With the stabilizers fully deployed we are currently cruising in 15 to 20 foot rolling waves which kind of remind you to have something handy close by should you need an aid. I am posting tonight for two reasons, first, it looks like we may have some decent internet and second tonight was the big gala dinner for our retiring Captain, Captain Jonathon Mercer. These dinners are usually in the Pinnacle Restaurant which for this cruise would have been some 32 dinners for the “full” cruise passengers. So rather than tying up the Pinnacle for all these individual dinners they decided to hold a one for all in the main dining room. Fully marks to Petr and his team for pulling off this major task. Very nice dinner as they had a three band rotation playing all evening, our wait staff were excellent as was the finale of the evening of the singers and dancers performing “the midnight hour”. Nice sea day, great Gala and bonus of an hour back tonight, yeah. A few pics of our night, hope you enjoy…
