“Oktoberfest Hits the Zaandam — with Pinnacle Dining Perfection!”
It seems like every day aboard the Zaandam there’s something happening—and today was no exception! The Lido Deck was magically transformed into a lively Bavarian beer hall as Oktoberfest made its much-anticipated arrival. The crew once again outdid themselves, decking the space with festive decorations, serving up delicious German-inspired food, pouring plenty of beer, and even organizing a few good-natured drinking games. The atmosphere was full of laughter, clinking steins, and pure fun!
What’s remarkable is how these spontaneous-feeling events just seem to pop up around here. Funny enough, when we first looked at the calendar weeks ago, we’d booked a 7 p.m. reservation at the Pinnacle specialty restaurant for tonight. You might think, “Well, just cancel or reschedule”—but not so fast! From early morning, your whole day revolves around that special dinner. You carefully plan your meals, having a light breakfast and a small lunch, all to save room for the Pinnacle Feast. Changing that reservation isn’t as simple as it sounds—it’s a classic “first world problem” juggling act, lol.
That said, it didn’t stop us from soaking in the Oktoberfest spirit. We happily snapped pictures, enjoyed the music, and joined in the festivities on the Lido Deck before heading to our reservation.
And let me tell you, the Pinnacle dinner did not disappoint—every bite was exquisite, a true culinary highlight. Plus, the entertainment keeps raising the bar. Last night, we were treated to a fantastic show by the Highly Strung Orchestra, a wonderfully talented Australian family who filled the theater with vibrant energy and incredible music.
All in all, another fantastic day at sea filled with great food, fun, and memories to cherish.
