Castries, St. Lucia - April 23, 2014

Well we finally made it to the Caribbean, over five hundreds cruising and we are now finally here in the Caribbean - Hooray!!! Saint Lucia looks like a great place to start our tour through this area of the world. Quick facts, Saint Lucia is just 14 miles wide and 27 miles long with the majority of the 200,000 inhabitants living in the Castries area.

This island is set up for tourism with spots to dock five cruise ships, we are very fortunate to be here at the tail end of the season and have the place to ourselves. Other tourists of course but only our cruise ship in. For us it was a combination island tour and beach, snorkel, five hours $60 US per couple, not bad. We toured south of Castries for about 90 minutes, taking in fishing villages and amazing vistas along the way with the highlight being the viewpoint of the twin Pitons Peaks. Our beach destination was in a town named, Soufriere and the beach Resort of Anse Chastanet, just beautiful - very difficult road to get there but well worth it. Our driver Mickey did and excellent job.

Great sail away tonight with an amazing Caribbean Sunset... This upload will definitely be in a few parts, one will be dedicated to the GoPro Camera (first time used under water) as I will be attempt to include these pictures for the first time.

Tomorrow, Dominica, crazy... port, port, port, port... I know pretty tough as I see the weather back home is somewhat less than what we are experiencing. Sorry...
