The museum blitz continues with today visiting more sites while including a great historical walk, yes using another Rick Steeves audio Tour. We start at the centre of it all at the Ile de la Cite and the St. Chappelle Church. This Gothic church architecture is a cathedral of stained glass like no other. Built in only six years, 1242-1248 for King Louis XIV, this church contains 15 separate panels of stained glass, over 6,500 square feet, two third is still the original, fantastic. From here we headed over an snapped a few pics of the iconic Notre Dame (no visit this time, been in a few times in the past and the line looked too long for us). From here we headed over to the left bank and the funky Shakespeare and co. bookstore. What a great cool spot, many little rooms with many English books, new and used. A few pics of our day so far... hope you enjoy.
