Well we have pea soup fog this morning and it doesn’t look like it is going to clear so we are on route to Cape Horn. We are of course cruising at a slow safe fog speed with no fog horn, we are a ghost ship cruising through the Southern Ocean. Fortunately, I looked out the window this morning at the chime of my 6 am alarm and then put on the broadcast network, channel 41 and rolled over back to sleep. At about 7ish is when the Expedition team leader came on and advised us of our situation followed about 15 minutes later by the captain giving us the bad news. He basically said that the conditions where not likely to improve and therefore cancelled the scenic cruising that we were to have today. Many disappointed people as today we were to see the huge ice tables (basically apartment sized chunks of ice laying flat), so yes very unfortunate for all. I will post a few pics from last years final day to give those new to the blog an idea of what we were to have seen today. Now this leaves us with an easy Sunday with a few lectures today followed by the Super Bowl Broadcast. We are and have been experiencing some major wifi difficulties here still even though we have now come back over the 60 degree south line, just hoping for some improvement soon - just a bit frustrating. A few pics of our time here today as well as a few from last year, hope you enjoy…
