August 7, 2019: Galway, Ireland

Today was a real driving test day with narrow roads with either bush or stone walls within inches of your mirrors and these were two way roads, crazy. If you meet someone head on, one of you must decide who had the most recent pull out area and go back to it, crazy. The craziest thing was that one of these narrow roads had an 80 kilometre an hour sign posted on it, again real crazy. I was just getting used to the left side thing and now this. Lol. What’s real interesting is when you get behind a few cars and realize that there is real nervous nelly leading the way sort of speak, I don’t think they like this driving thing here at all. One, even on a not so  bad road stopped every time a truck came at her, like stopped, nervous that the truck was going to hit her. She eventually pulled over to let everyone pass.

We visited the Burren National Park today, about an hour south of Galway. A great hiking trail park with interesting limestone rock formations and vegetation. There were several hiking routes, along with rated challenges to choose from. We did a short hike to get out into the environment and then had some more fun on these narrow, narrow roads. Our reward for the day was our scone stop at the recommended, Gregans Castle - a nice treat. Returned back to our hotel in Galway at about 6 for a bit of retail therapy before taking in a concert at the 14 century church, very nice. More adventures tomorrow, here are some of our pics from today, hope you enjoy. They may be a bit out of order due to a dual camera situation, sorry about that...
