Oct 13, 2022, At Sea

Just a quickie post today as we are definitely seeing a momentum shift in the air here aboard the Zaandam and the Grand African Voyage. Jeremy Hales really did a great job in our Port discussion talk today, you can see where his passion lies, and that is proving great hands on experienced information. Even though his main job is that of Cruise Director, we can really see that he loves talking about the practical port applications. For us this is great, it will help in those situations of whether we jump on an excursion or not, so great. Also today we had a wonderful Pinnacle Lunch today with another couple we met through Cruise Critics. No pics of this lunch but if you get to the Pinnacle for lunch, the Pinnacle Burger is amazing, well anything with bacon jam is amazing, just saying. After lunch it was quickly off to the dining room for a wine tasting, very well done. Then a bit of a break before some exercise and then dinner. Then the main highlight of the day was our first look at the new onboard singers and dancers. Special for this cruise, they have brought back the Singers and Dancers, four of each, so eight in total and all new shows. Along with the singers and dancers they also have their own costume designer team on board, how great is that. This is all plus a four piece Stage Band that will be joining any guest entertainer coming on board. We heard them last and they are great. They will be also rotating around the ship. Things are definitely picking up speed. Speaking of which, a little rough today, okay but very noticeable. I have a few pics taken after the show tonight, they were doing some promo picks after there first night’s show. Tomorrow is Covid test day for all guests on board, self administered taking pictures of the results and showing those results to your cabin steward. With fingers crossed, all will be good on the ship and we could do away with these masks.

Quote of the day, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes”.
