I know, where is that? Right? Well this chain of islands sits at the mouth of the St. Lawrence. On a beautiful day like today it would almost look like we were in South Pacific anchored amongst several atolls. We had a 20 minute tender ride to the well protected harbour which protects all the fishing boats from the exposed waters just beyond the breakwater. Fishing is the main industry here that anchors all the connecting communities. Cap-aux-Meules has vibrant land and seascapes, colourful houses and lovely dunes and cliffs. For us today it was an easy day, a nice short walk into town to the souvenir shop and then the Tim Hortons for some free wifi. As of today, we have purchased the wifi package, where we were informed tonight that the wifi is down, haha. Money well spent, welcome to wifi on board. Up to now we were able to use our own data packages, we are now in international waters where roaming data begins at $7.00 per minute - no thanks.
Tonight we had a wonderful dinner with past cruising friend, Helen and two new cruising friends, Nona and Joan, we had met Helen back in 2014 and have enjoyed many a Grand Voyage together. Tonight was also the exciting Orange Party in the Crow’s nest, a very well attended affair. Lots of orange and loads of fun, we had nice chats with both the Hotel Director, Florin and Guest Relations, Daphnae. Good news is that the clocks fell back an hour last night, ah, more blissful sleep. Okay now time to try this wifi package for the blog upload. Good luck to me. A few pics of our day today, hope you enjoy…
Just put one foot in the water and you will realize that you are in the Atlantic not the Pacific 🤣 M&S
