October 6, 2022, At Sea

What a difference a day makes, we were back in the pea soup fog this morning and the first time that we have seen fog in the open Lido pool area, something out of a Stephen King novel. Well some say it was the steam off the pool but it sure did not look that way, pretty eerie…

A great and relaxing sea day that included a visit to the fantastic Canaletto Italian Restaurant on board. The antipasto and beef carpaccio were a delicious starter, with the main dishes that followed, Lasagna for Jan and the Veal special for me - fantastico. Everything made on board including the melt in your mouth Lasagna noodles. The deserts also outstanding, a trio of gelato for Jan and the “Pick me up” Tiramisu for me. A gastronomic feast as it were, served by our wonderful wait staff, Jearmelyn and Desy.

We then headed down to the Ocean Bar to the play some musical trivia hosted by our cruise director, Glen Michael. He plays the piano very well and we had a lot of fun with the standing room only bar. We ended up with 50 out of a possible 60 points. The winners came in at 58.

Tomorrow we get the joy of immigration before we are able to head out and enjoy the city of Boston. We are thinking about retracing our steps of 14 years ago along the Freedom Trail.

Only a few pics of our sea day, hope you enjoy… This is also a good test of our wifi package. We just purchased the same “surf” package for the Grand African, hope this is the right one. With fingers crossed, I’m hitting send.
