September 30, 2024 - Kanazawa, Japan - Part 3

Part 3 in pics takes us to the Geisha District and sail away. Yes, although in reducing numbers there are still Geisha tea houses, where they still practice their art. They sing, they dance, they read and keep you in pleasant company.

Some pics of this district… Hope you enjoy…

Many Tea Houses now converted to boutiques and restaurants.

Gold leaf ice cream, yup, real gold, 95% pure. One cone, about $10 Cdn.

Another wonderful send off by a local group.

September 30, 2024 - Kanazawa, Japan - Part 2

Part 2 in pics takes us to the Samurai district where the leading group, the Samurai led the country. Did you know that the Japanese drive and walk on the left because of the samurai? This is so their swords would not touch as they passed each other in the narrow streets.

A 400 year suite of armour actually worn by a Samurai.

An actual Samurai home now opened as a museum.

With its own small garden of course.

The stairs leading to the Tea Room.

The view from the Tea Room.

Weapons from this time.

Shoes?

A hand warmer.

Money from the Samurai era.
