July 05, 2017: Furore, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Today was "the day" of our hiking, The Path of The Gods. I will remember this day always, a perfect hiking day indeed. About 11 Klms from beginning at the Resort to Positano, clocking over 20,000 steps today, long, yes, hot, yes, rewarding, oh yes - this is an amazing hike. Pics include the start of our day with a pic looking up from our villa to the beginning of the Path of the Gods with a few later of the top looking down to our accommodation. The Path of the Gods is a 9 kilometre trail that is known throughout the world with many hikers putting this hike as one of the top hikes on their bucket lists as one of the top hikes in the World. Spectacular views are in store throughout this entire hike as you stroll along this very safe well maintained trail. Safety including markers along the way, the one pictured is number 15 with the emergency phone number (118) - If for some reason you are lost or injured you simply call this number and nite the number you are at and help will be along the way. What a great system, a system I believe should be adopted everywhere there are hiking trails, for example the North Shore Search and Rescue in North Vancouver, hikers get lost on our trails very often, imagine the time and cos savings of posting this type of system all over the North Shore. The Path of the Gods ends at a great little kiosk where you can grab a lemon slushy before heading the 1500 steps down to Positano. Here we grabbed a couple beers from a market store and headed to a beach Jan and I knew about - out of the main stream. Picnic lunch followed by a fabulous swim in the Med, ferry back to Amalfi, hot tub, cooking demo (tiramisu), dinner a short walk then to bed - legs are a bit tired. Early start tomorrow but here are a few pics of the day, hope you enjoy…
