June 30, 2017, Izzalini, Umbria

A bit of rain today and much cooler temperatures, well 20 to 26, if you find that to be cooler. Major rain this morning then spotty showers throughout the day - all in all a good day. First stop was a quick look around the medieval village of Bevagna before the major stop of the day to Assisi. GPS coupled with the Rick Steves audio app with the walking tour made for an mostly relaxing visit to this pilgrimage spot (for many followers). Strolling through this city with the audio tour really brought this place to life, again highly recommended (where available). Many highlights, including hearing a choir of beautiful voices singing at a local wedding and of course the many picturesque spots in this medieval city, everywhere you look there is a picture wow factor. We were chatting while in town about how crazy it would be to drive within these city walls, narrow and really narrow - well when keying in "home" on the GPS, guess what it took us through these mentioned narrow streets, slowly but surely thanks to Miss GPS we got through it. Had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant beside the hotel tonight, our last night, homemade everything and just fantastic. I mentioned in an earlier post about having to go somewhere else to experience something, anything, well for dinner this little spot next to our hotel offered one of the best meals on our entire trip to this point, and very reasonable as well. So many time the grass is not so much greener on the other side of the street - food for thought (pun intended) Big drive to Naples tomorrow so that's it for today, here are a few pics hope you enjoy…
