Today was tank draining day. Which meant getting Andiamo safely off the maxed out Anderson Blocks by hooking up and then driving through a vacant pull through to drain the tanks and then return her to our site. Fortunately for me the two sites ahead of us emptied out at about 10 am, this made maneuvering much easier. So taking my time and a half inch at a time I was able to perform this task successfully. All in though it was about an hour, so not too bad.
I then made the mistake of trying to reestablish my Sirius XM radio in Andiamo. Two online technicians and an hour and a half later, the tech then asks if my account is in Canada, ah yes. Okay, you will then you need to contact SiriusXM Canada to help you. What…. I said that for any future tech issues with anyone, you may want to start with that. Needless to say the Sirius XM that was working fine two days ago is still not working…
I then had some planning for next adventure at our next stop starting tomorrow. Oh, some exciting stuff coming up at our stop in Horseshoe Bend.
This evening we headed back to the historic home of Route 66, Williams for some retail therapy, a shoot out and then dinner. Ah, yes, an authentic 1873 style old fashioned gunfight - spurs n all. Loads of fun. Every day of the week at 7:00 pm in a different location they hold a gun fight. Five actors involved, they mosey down Route 66 Main Street to remind y’all of the coming gunfight tonight at 7. At exactly 7pm a gunshot can be heard and the gunfight commences. A great, fun way to spend 20 minutes in the middle of town, highly recommended.
We had dinner at the converted gas station, now a brewery and restaurant. Jan and I both had the special, country fried chicken with all the fixings. Yum. We ended the evening driving through the Dairy Queen drive through and then of course filling up at the almost the cheapest gas yet at $3.49 a gallon at the Route 66 station. Now the thing here is they cut you off at $75.00, we are thinking gas rationing. Well we just went down the street and topped off at even cheaper gas at $3.19 a gallon (for the Canadians playing at home that’s about 84 cents a litre, US conversation, that’s about $1.13 Canadian a litre). There is a Chevron Station right outside our campground where the price is posted at $4.39 a gallon. I believe that is another tourist insensitive to head on down to Williams and historic Route 66.
We had a wonderful five nights here at the KOA Grand Canyon, we have a nice short 2.5 hour drive tomorrow, so no hurry getting going. Life is good.
Some pics of our evening, hope you enjoy…

I’m here to invite y’all to a gunfight down the street, 7pm sharp.
Neon is alive and well here on Route 66
