Sept 14, 2018: Dijon, France

Today was an easy relaxed no obligation day, no tours, no had to be somewhere at a certain time kind of day. Well except for our meet and great with gadventures at 6pm, but that was later in the day.

The four of us started at at a respectable 10:45 am (Brian, Anna, Jan and I), ran into for a quick hello to Sunny and Jeff (they had their own plan today) and continued to the main market as today was a market day at Les Halles. I love markets, especially great ones and this is a very good market. Great displays, nice people and very crowded and had just about everything. We did not opt for the hotel breakfast this morning so we had the idea of creating a picnic. Ham, meat, cheese, desserts and fresh bread were collected around the market, we even had the nice vendor open our wine for us, nice. Across the street we picked up some Dijon mustard (no surprise there) and headed a few blocks to the lovely Park Darcy. A great venue for a nice picnic.

Back across the street into the town centre for a bit more of a walk about and retail therapy before stopping at a the local Notre Dame church and then a nice break in the courtyard of a 13 century building.

Back to the hotel for a short rest before meeting our group and CEO gadventures representative, Sarah (sp). We are 22 in all and looks to be a good group, where mostly the travellers are from Vancouver. Most headed out for dinner at a local Brasserie, La Bourgogne. Very nice meal and get together conversation.

Early tomorrow, everyone is excited about what the next week on the barge will bring us as our adventure continues to the next chapter.

A few pics, hope you enjoy...
