We got going this morning by about 10 am, with the four of us, Brian, Anna, Jan and myself, making our way over to the local Starbucks for coffee and breakfast. The hotel we are staying at is okay, small “o”. No daily service and a 12 euro breakfast that just do it for us. The location, though, is fantastic, very central with a plethora of restaurants all with very easy walking distance.
Coffees complete we headed over to what they call, the new market, very nice, wonderful display, friendly people, all provided for great photo opportunities. We strolled back visiting an old cathedral and an Italian style street market.
At 2:30 pm we met Alex, our guide, in the lobby for an extensive walking tour through Lyon. Alex was fantastic, easy to understand and very thorough. He took us to all corners of his city including a metro and funicular ride. Will let the pictures of the day guide this blog entry.
