Sept 12, 2021: Jasper to the David Thompson Resort and RV Camp.

Pulled out of our site at the 11:00 am check out time and turned south down Highway 93 the Icefields Hwy. This was a day of what we call, scenic cruising, we made plenty of stops coupled with short hikes around most incredible waterfalls and terrain. The Athebastic falls is a must stop. We made plenty of viewpoint stops before coming the Columbia Icelfield Discovery centre. We had planned lunch in the restaurant bit because of this covid thing, it was just not busy enough for them to open. They were still running all their tours which was great but with limited services. At the time it pouring rain so we opted to have lunch in the RV with the beautiful view of the glacier and then the sun broke, wow what a sight. We decided to drive down to the Glacier parking lot and hike over to where to glacier almost stopped or started depending on how your look at it, this was good enough for us as the weather had broke for our time hiking here only for the rain to come back in as we were leaving, talk about great timing. Okay so now an hour drive to our next set campsite, The David Thompson Resort. We arrived just before 6:00 pm and settled in prior to getting dark, good timing on this great day. Our plan for tomorrow is to just chill, time for a “sea day”. Sleep and recharge our batteries as well as the RV. There is a beautiful lake here with some hikes, a store with restaurant so we plan to just enjoy this resort tomorrow…
