Sept 23, 21: Trail

Spent a good time in Kaslo today, great little town of 800 permanent residents. This is a former silver town built up around the 1890’s, many of the old buildings still intact.  The main tourist attraction in town is the former steam ship the Moyie, beautifully restored. This steamship did daily runs up and down the Kootney Lake before the highway system was built. Fully operational with areas for cargo, including farm animals, and parlours for men and women only along with a common dining room. It was a treat to see. Good quite campsite last night with a casual check out time. After our visit to Kaslo we headed south towards Trail passing Nelson along the way. Our intention was to stop in Nelson for a walk around but this was not to be as there was just no parking for our RV, we tried a few times in different streets and this just did not work anywhere. We headed out of town after about a half and hour. Our stop was at the Stewart rest stop about 45 mins out of town for our RV lunch, very nice. We parked in our site at about 5 pm in the Trail Municipal RV park, nice. A little highway noise but this should be Olay for the one night…Hmmm, there is a Ford Dealership next door, perhaps I should make some truck inquiries…
