We continue as we say goodbye to Doug and Brenda at Mara Lake and do a little back track towards Revelstoke but hang a right on Hwy 23 towards Naksup. The fun part of this journey was the 25 minute free ferry ride to cross the Revelstoke Lake. We arrived at the Shelter Bay to Galena Bay ferry at 12:45 pm for the 1 PM ferry, this ferry runs every hour from 5:10 in the morning straight through to midnight, amazing, free because it is part of the highway system. It was about a half full boat and was a very calm crossing. On the other side we drove for about a half hour before stopping at a very nice view point to have our lunch. To backtrack a bit, while on the ferry I found the Nakusp Hot Springs Chalet and Campground in our little accommodation book, booked it as we left the ferry. This campground has a 4pm checkin time and a 10:30am check out time, a little unusual, we checked in at just before 4. We are in a pretty good spot with a cliff and creek just below us, kind of reminds of our old house on Princess Ave. We took a little break before heading to the Hot Springs pool located just behind the office, very nice. The large pool runs a temperature of 99 f while the little pool clocks in at 105, yikes, yup pretty warm indeed. This was all a very good stress reliever as we spent just over an hour in the pools. Back to the RV for dinner and evening relaxation. We decided to purchase a two day spa pass here as although we must vacate our site by 10:30 we are able to park near the office all day if we like. So we will do a bit of a hike in the morning, have a spa and then leave for Kaslo… Another great day…
