Not a bad night sleep, probably just from exhaustion but up had our Sunday pancakes and out of the Campsite at the slated 11:00 am. Doug had mentioned to checkout the Railway Museum in Revelstoke which we did, well worth a visit. They had all the history of Canada’s rail service as well as many cars and Engines. This was a treat to do. We headed to the Dam for a few pics before heading towards Mara Lake. On the way we stopped at the Last Spike rest stop for lunch and the check out where the last spike was truly hammered, pretty cool. The bonus was while we were having our lunch the Rocky Mountaineer came by. She slowed to a stop and you could see the commentator explain that this is where the last spike was set on our coast to coast train network. We then headed to Sicamous for Propane and yeah, found some at the Chevron Station, did I say Yeah. We then found Doug and Brenda Stewarts Mara Lake abode and parked our rig right on the from lawn, our first try at Mooch docking, lol. Great old friends of a lifetime. They showed us around their new summer / winter place as well as did a memory lane walk around the neighbourhood. Growing into my 20’s I spent a lot of time here in the summer, a traditional one week vacation spot plus many a few weekends. The area has changed a lot and then again in spots not at all. Many, many fond memories here. Doug prepared a firehall meal of crispy noodles, coved with a salad, covered with a Thai chicken preparation with lot of veggies, delicious. We were also thrilled to give Doug his one year late 60th birthday present, a hand made placard for the property. Yes, it was a great night of reminiscing with a scotch glass in hand.
