Sept 14, 2021: David Thompson Resort to Banff

Another day, another spectacular drive, just incredible. The views, the mountains, the Icefields and then stop, long horn sheep on the side of the road, we are getting it all. Nice, scenic stop at the Bow Lake, breathtaking. There was even a bride and groom to boot, what a great day and setting for them. Then it was off to Lake Louise or hold on, not so much. Yesterday we had the Lake at the resort to ourselves and now everyone and everyone was here at Lake Louise. We attempted to drive in for a quick stop, well the traffic control had none of that as they claimed all parking was full (I say claimed because I did see some spots that remained empty - VIP saving perhaps), so no Lake Louise on this brush by nor no Moraine Lake, again all parking were full. We are coming back this way so there may be another chance in a few days. It just seems all of sudden everything was tourist busy. We arrived in Banff to long line of RV’s entering this massive camp ground. Then to the local grocery store with a manned parking lot guard, simply told me no RV’s in this parking lot - it did not feel very friendly here. Jan ran in as I circled the blocks to finally fine a 15 minute spot - better hurry the parking patrol might ticket me. We then went to check out the parking for our Tram ride tomorrow, totally full again. They even have special spots for RV’s but guess what, yup filled with cars. I asked the attendant about this and she said, well if  there is room blocks them in, yeah, I don’t see that working out well. We will try to be a bit early tomorrow. Back to the RV park and get set up for the night, we have full hook ups but will only plug in tonight. Chatted with a few neighbours, it really seems that camping folk are so nice… Time for some Netflix before we enjoy a good nights sleep and another day in this mountainous paradise…
