Sept 10, 2021: Jasper

Once again and on again off again sleep, as I tossed and turned about how to make this work. We decided to get up at about 7, get the coffee going and then head the hour back to Jasper and drop Zhalbey off, park the rig, have breakfast in the rig and then go over to the pickup point for our all day tour. On the way in we chatted about this dilemma. Long story short, we are now staying at a Parks Canada Campground 5 klms out of Jasper proper, live and learn.

Our tour today was with Maligne Adventures, a 6 and half hour tour to enjoy the Maligne Valley wildlife with waterfalls and a boat cruise to Spirit Island, nice. We all put on our masks as we loaded into a very spacious mini van with Sebastian as our guide for the day. We made a few view stops along the way as well as a brief hike in the Maligne Canyon. There are many options for hikes here from 1 to 6 bridges, with this tour we did a nice scenic tour over 2 of the bridges. Some pretty incredible waterfalls with the beautiful scenery around us. We made a brief stop at Medicine lake before jumping on our boat for the Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island. This would be a highly recommended thing to do while visiting here, about 90 minutes in total. Lets just say the camera finger was getting a good workout today. We did see a grizzly bear on the way back which was incredible as well as an Osprey nest, with an Osprey in it. This plus a few female elk on the way to our Wapiti Campground. It is very nice here, basic but nice - no plug ins. Tomorrow we also have a tour with Zhalbey on an easy river raft tour, looking forward to it.
